polar express irl

Heyyyy! How's it going? I hope you all are doing great! It was yet another amazing week here in Washington!

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • LANDON: Landon is literally doing so well! Yesterday we had dinner with him at bishops house and he became best buds with their family! Bishop even made his favorite food for dinner! We had an incredible lesson about baptism and why we get baptized and what it means. Bishop's family all shared their testimonies of baptism and how it has blessed their lives and Landon is praying about baptism! We are hoping to extend a date for baptism either this week or next so please keep him in your prayers!
  • HALLOWEEN: Halloween was so fun! It was a normal day until 6 pm and then we had to stop working and so we went and got pizza and our district got together and watched The Fighting Preacher. Oh my goodness it was such a good movie! If you haven't seen it you definitely need to go watch it!
  • CHAPMANS: The Chapman family came to church! They have been taught by missionaries in the past but they never came to church and they finally came! They brought 3 friends so there were 7 kids and Tom and they all loved it! It was such a special experience to have them there!
  • LORI: We are continuing to teach our returning member Lori and she is just a miracle! Everytime we go over she is just so excited and she shares her testimony with us every time. She is currently working to get Sundays off to come to church so pray for her!
  • DEAF LADIES: We had an opportunity to sign with the 2 cutest deaf ladies ever this week! They are from Cambodia and they are twins who were both born deaf. It was so much fun to finally get to you my ASL and have an actual conversation with someone. They were so funny! They aren't interested but it made my heart happy to get to sign with them:)
  • TITLE: So to explain my title, last night we were driving to Astoria and it was extremely dark. It also is a pretty windy road and we were just driving and suddenly there's like 20 elk covering the entire road! It was quite literally polar express in real life and it was the funniest thing ever! Anyways I just had to share because it made us laugh really hard.
LOWLIGHTS:
  • TRANSFER NEWS: We got transfer news yesterday and Sister White is leaving me😭We are so sad that we only got one transfer together! I will be finishing my mission here in Lake Sacajawea and training a new STL. I am excited but also so so sad!
  • DAYLIGHT SAVINGS: When daylight savings time ends here in Washington it is actually the worst thing ever. It now gets dark at about 4 pm and it's just so sad. Definitely not a fan.
That's all I've got for this week! I would love to hear from you all so please email me! Have a great week!
-Sister Stringham
