"I'm driving to dutch I don't care"

Heyyyy! Another wild week in Washington! So many miracles though!

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • ROBERT: A couple weeks ago we had a crazy miracle where someone just randomly called us asking about church. Well this week we were able to have a zoom lesson with him and he is just so cool! He was so scared that he would be too old to know God and we were able to tell him that no one is too old for God. It was such a spiritual lesson and it was just so cool!
  • SUSAN: Another amazing miracle of finding a new friend! We were out walking and had talked to this man on his porch and he wasn't interested so we just kept on walking. While walking back, a woman on his porch called us over and asked us to help with her yard. We were able to help her out and have a lesson with her two days later. She kept saying she wasn't super interested but by the end she said she will come to church sometime! So so cool! She's such a sweet lady and we are so blessed to have met her!
  • INTERVIEWS: We had interview days this week. Unfortunately I didn't get an interview because it's my last transfer😭but we were able to give a really cool training and I loved it! I'll talk about it more in my spiritual thought:)
  • TEMPLE TOUR: We took our returning member Lori on a temple tour this week. She had never been on temple grounds so it was so special! She even told us she wants to serve a senior mission and it was so precious! She is genuinely the sweetest soul. At the end she said she was just speechless about the temple and is so excited to get to go inside! So tender!! We just love her!
  • CALEEN: At church last week a member ran over to us to introduce us to a returning member who was there for the first time in months! We were able to have a little lesson with her this week and it was incredible! We studied the prodigal son and had such a special discussion about God always welcoming us home! She is the sweetest soul ever!
LOWLIGHTS:
  • DRAINED: Something about the tag makes people think they can just trauma dump on us and let me tell you, that is a lot for a 20 year old brain to handle. One day this week we had 3 people in a row give us hour long trauma dumps. After the third Sister Harris looked at me and said "I'm driving to Dutch I don't care" and it was just perfect😂She's the best!
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
Our interview training this transfer was all about finding our why as missionaries. We listened to a clip of a John Bytheway talk where he talked about this hike he went on with some scouts and one scout had a bunch of heavy stuff in his pack that he didn't need and that slowed him way down. He said "We can't change the trail, but we can change what we carry with us" or something along those lines:) Our life is a trail that we can't change, but we can choose what we have in our pack and what we let go of. Jesus Christ is ready and willing to take anything we let him take. He loves us so much that He carries all the hard for us and even walks with us along our own personal trails.

I love you all! Have an awesome week!
