Tami got baptized!!!
This week was so so good! Missionary work is so joyful!
HIGHLIGHTS:
- TAMI'S BAPTISM: Tami got baptized on Saturday and it was just so perfect! She was absolutely glowing and she said she felt so good afterwards! So many ward members came to support and she was smiling the entire time! She also had her husband and 3 of her kids there who aren't members. It was really cool to be able to see them support her and they definitely felt the spirit. She was so excited to make a covenant with God and it was so happy to be a part of! She also asked all 3 of us to do a joint talk on baptism so that was really fun too! Funny story, my dress strap snapped off right before we spoke so I just balanced it on my shoulder which was pretty funny. Luckily we have the best members who saved me after our talk with safety pins and then sewing it up! Elma is the greatest!
- EXCHANGES: We had 2 exchanges this week and it was so fun! I spent Tuesday with Sister Blinzinger who's from Layton and Sister Patrick from Vermont and it was so fun! The two of them are so fun and so hardworking! We saw lots of miracles on our day together and even got to do some service which was awesome! Then I spent Thursday with Sister Potter who's also from Layton! She is literally so funny and I was cracking up all day! I'm so grateful to get to go on so many exchanges! They're exhausting but so much fun!
- MLC: We had MLC this week so I got to see all my besties! They also made some homemade Costa Vida and I've never been happier! It was AMAZING!
- LUNCH WITH THE SCOTTS: On Saturday we got to have lunch with Elder and Sister Scott! We won at zone conference because of our A+ apartment so they came up to Elma to eat with us! We were filling the font so they brought food up to the church and it was really yummy food! If you ever happen to be in Elma (which I don't think any of you ever will be) definitely eat at the Rusty Tractor!
- STAKE CONFERENCE: We also had stake conference this weekend! In our mission we aren't allowed to go to the adult session on Saturday unless we have a friend there but we got special permission from President to have the whole zone go so that we could sing a musical number! The whole session was focused on missionary work and encouraging adults to serve senior missions so they asked us to sing Called to Serve and it was awesome! On Sunday, there were SO many people there! They decided to not broadcast to other buildings so everyone came to Elma and it was packed! President and Sister Mann came and spoke and it was just great! I love stake conference!
- MIRACLES! There have been so many big and small miracles recently! We have met so many new people and ran into so many formerly taught people and just seen so many miracles! I invite you all to look at your life and recognize more miracles because life is so happy when you do!
I'm going to skip lowlights this week because there are none! It was a great week!
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
This week as I was preparing for my portion of our talk at Tami's baptism, I read a conference talk called "All Must Take Upon Them The Name Given By The Father" and it was really good! I wanted to share a quote with you all that really stood out to me! It says: "Just as we take His name upon us, He takes our sins and sorrows upon Him, and yet His arm of mercy is extended to encircle us in the arms of His love." Covenants are so powerful and I'm so thankful to be able to make covenants and help others grow toward covenants with Heavenly Father! God is so good!
Have the best week ever! I love you all!
