humpday!🐪
Hello! How are you all??? I hope all is well wherever you are in the world! This week was amazing and I am feeling so thankful!
HIGHLIGHTS:
- TAMI: TAMI IS ON DATE! We had a lesson with her last Monday and we were just talking and she stopped us to ask when she could get baptized! She is SO EXCITED for her baptism! She will be getting baptized April 26th! At our Monday lesson, she told us she was really worried that none of her family would come. None of them are into religion at all and some of them have had bad experiences with religion. They are all supportive, but she didn't think they would come. At our Thursday lesson, she told us that almost all of her family said they will be there! It was such a miracle!
- TRAINING: On Wednesday, we drove 2 hours down to Vancouver to pick up our new trainee...Sister Sonognini from Florida! She is literally so ready to work and is already an amazing missionary! She is so funny and the three of us are getting along so well! I am so grateful for them! Every night she makes us all list off 5 things we are grateful for so I have been able to be really focused on gratitude this week which is the best! Everyone go list 5 things you're grateful for!
- 9 MONTHS: I officially hit 9 months as a missionary! It is actually so insane! I feel like just yesterday I was flying to Washington really wondering what the heck I was doing! Now I am halfway through and loving every second! I'm so grateful for every experience I have had the last nine months and can't wait to see what these next nine months hold!
- HOUSE OF THE LORD: We got to go to the Seattle House of the Lord this week and do baptisms with our ward youth group! It was so much fun! I haven't done baptisms since I was in the MTC so it was so fun to get to do them again! It is so special to be able to perform these ordinances and the spirit is so strong in the temple!
- CUTEST DOG: Yesterday while we were out tracting, we knocked a door and the dog was just chilling in the yard. He ran around the house and brought back a ball so we stayed and played with the dog for a while! I had so so much fun! I love dogs! It truly made the night even better than it already was.
LOWLIGHTS:
- SKETCHY: We have had a couple experiences this week where it was kind of scary! People can be pretty sketchy! We were talking to this teenage boy and he was telling us about how he used to believe in God and then he started talking about how his family disowned him, and his ex girlfriend has a restraining order against him, and the family he was living with didn't feel comfortable around him and we all got pretty freaked out. To say we left that area pretty quickly would be an understatement. We were out of there so quick! We had a few other instances where the spirit was just completely gone so we knew we had to leave! What a gift the spirit is!
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
With Easter coming up, there has been a major focus in the mission of the Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ! This is all we have been sharing with people. I recently have been loving 1 Nephi 21:13 which says "Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me." It is so special to know that the scars Jesus Christ has in His palms and feet and side, are for each of us personally! While He was suffering, He saw each one of us and the struggles we would go through! The scars are for you and me individually! It is so cool to have that knowledge and to share that with people who don't have that knowledge! Christ truly loves us more than we will ever comprehend!
Love you all! Hope you have the most amazing Easter ever!
-Sister Stringham
