"Nirvana sounds like Aberdeen"

What is up everyone!? I miss you all so much! Hopefully you're doing great wherever you are!

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • MLC: We had MLC this week and it was so fun! I learned so much and we talked about how amazing the mission is doing right now! There are so many miracles happening and the Lord is truly hastening his work, especially here in the WVM! I love it here so much and I love being a missionary! I also got to see so many mission friends!
  • EXCHANGES: I got to go on 2 exchanges this week! First one I went up to Shelton with Sister Davies! She is a 2nd transfer missionary and is just so excited about missionary work! She loves being out working and we had a lot of fun together! The second one I went up to Shelton again but this time I was with both Hermanas! It was so fun! Literally the Hermanas are the cutest humans and we all get along so well! I didn't understand any of the contacts that day but I loved getting to be with them! We also had a member buy us milkshakes while we were there and let me tell ya, they were SO GOOD!
  • FREE CLOTHES: While we were out working this week, we started talking to these ladies who were walking into the Elma Grange. They weren't super interested in church but then they mentioned that they were setting up a clothing exchange. We asked if they needed help and they said they would love it! We were able to go inside and help them set up tables and tables of clothes! They said they do this exchange every 3 months and anyone in the community brings clothes and can take whatever clothes, SO AWESOME! So after setting up for a little bit, they let us "shop" and pick any clothes we wanted. It was way too much fun and we found some good stuff.
  • SUNSETS: The sunsets this last week have been insane! I am convinced Washington has the prettiest sunsets of any state ever. They are gorgeous! We are really trying to soak in all the pretty sunsets and sunny days before it starts to rain again this week.
LOWLIGHTS:
  • SLOW WORK: The work is progressing but has been so slow the past little while. This is expected because it's winter and it's always slow, but it seems like no one is wanting to talk to us. We have had to stop teaching quite a few friends because they are way too busy and it's been really hard to find new friends! Keep praying for people to be prepared and soften their hearts to the gospel!
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
Something I studied this week was miracles. I read a talk called "Behold! I am a God of Miracles" by Ronald A. Rasband and it was so so good! You all should read it. Something he said that really stuck out to me was that "miracles are a lifeline from heaven to earth". I think this is so cool! Miracles are moments when heaven connects directly with earth and we see the divine power of God so clearly manifest in our lives! I have been paying more attention to the small details after reading this talk and it has honestly changed my outlook on life so much! I invite you all to pay more attention to and write down the miracles in your life! It is truly life changing!

I love you all so much and I am constantly praying for you all! Have a great week!
-Sister Stringham
