bouncy ball liahona

 Hi friends! How are you all? I miss everyone like crazy but there is no place I would rather be. Missionary work is the best! 

HIGHLIGHTS:

• SUNSHINE: It has been SO SUNNY all week! It hasn't rained at all and the sun has been out the majority of the week! I have been soaking up as much sun as I possibly can! I haven't seen it for probably 6 weeks and I probably won't see it for at least 6 more so anytime I get a chance, I'm out in the sun soaking it all up. I didn't realize how much I missed the sun until it decided to come out again. 
• DAVID: We had the craziest miracle this week. We were all feeling pretty frustrated because we literally were not finding anyone. It had been almost 2 weeks since we had found anyone so it was getting pretty frustrating. We were going over to a less active member's house to do service but when we got there, she told us she couldn't get the stuff out before we got there. So instead of helping, we just sat and talked. While we were talking, this guy walks in. He had been out helping her son with some yard work and he was getting some water but we started talking to him. He has a crazy story and just recently got interested in religion. We showed him the "Because of Him" video and then asked him if he would ever want to get baptized and immediately he said yes! It was super exciting and he is so cool! Keep him in your prayers! 
• AMELIA: Amelia is doing SO GOOD! She just loves the gospel. I don't know if I've really explained who she is before but she is 9 years old and is the daughter of a returning member. She never lets her dad come to our lessons because she is a little embarrassed but we always want him there to help him come back. Well this week at our lesson, we were teaching and halfway through, she stands up and gets her dad! So both her and her dad got to be there for the rest of the lesson and it was so good! And she came to church again! We are hoping to give her a baptismal date this week so keep praying for her! 
• SILLY COMPS: My companions are so funny. We were out finding yesterday and for some reason Sister Richins had a bouncy ball. She kept bouncing it and it would always bounce in the most random ways. At one point she said it could be like a bouncy ball liahona and guide us to the elect. We tried it, it didn't work. But it was really funny so it was definitely a highlight. 
• BEST CAKE: One of our members was a chef for like 10 years or something and we went over to her house this week and she had made tres leches cake. I had never had tres leches before and it was SO YUMMY! Honestly one of the best cakes I have had in a long time. 

LOWLIGHTS:

• SO COLD: This week winter decided it wanted to show up. We have been out working in 30⁰ humid weather and it is actually awful. I have been wearing so many layers trying to stay warm and it's so annoying. Hopefully it doesn't get too much colder. 

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:

This week we all were feeling pretty frustrated about not finding people. We were feeling not successful and just pretty down. I read Elder Uchtdorf's talk" Fourth Floor, Last Door" and it's SO GOOD! I think I have talked about it in a previous email but everyone go read it! It encourages us to keep knocking, which applies to any aspect of our life. Our answers are sometimes behind the first door, and sometimes the last. Don't give up, and you will find your answer!
