Am I even a missionary anymore???
Hello hello hello! This week was wild! Literally meetings galore. We barely got to work, so I didn't even feel like a missionary this week. But it was still a really good week!
Highlights:
- INTERVIEWS X2: This week we had 2 full days of interviews. As STL's we have to be at interviews all day long to run trainings with missionaries so we didn't get to work Wednesday or Thursday at all. We had Elma interviews on Wednesday so we were able to be interviewed at the end of the day and my interview was so good! We talked about some of Christ's attributes and how they all tie together and how to strengthen them in my missionary work! President Mann is just the BEST! His British accent just adds to how intelligent he sounds too so it's just so fun.
- MLC: We had MLC this Friday and it was SO GOOD! First, I got to see all my friends and second, there was a general authority there! It was AMAZING! Elder Peter M. Johnson came and talked to us and he is so cool! He talked a lot about the importance of our purpose as missionaries and what that truly means for us. He is so good. He also joined us for our Sunday night devotional and talked a lot about Charity!
- AMELIA: Our friend Amelia is doing so good! She came to church again this week and she just loves it! She brings her dad along with her and he is a less active member so it's a win win! She loves the gospel and loves the Book of Mormon and is progressing so well! Keep her in your prayers!
- CHURCH MIRACLE: We had a really cool little miracle this week! In the middle of the day, we really needed to use the bathroom and we headed to the church, which was not the best use of our time, but it turned out so good! When we got to the church, there was a lady walking around the parking lot so we went and talked to her. We ended up talking for a while and she is actually pretty interested in the gospel. She has talked to missionaries before and wants to keep learning more. We were able to share a quick message with her and she talked about coming to church when her health improves! Super awesome miracle!
- TRANSFER NEWS: We got transfer news this morning! WE ALL ARE STAYING IN ELMA! We are super stoked to have the trio for one more transfer before Sister Dolan goes home!
- 6 MONTHS: I officially hit 6 months this week! I can't believe how quickly time has flown by! I am 1/3 of the way through my mission and I am honestly mind-blown!
Lowlights:
- DROP FRIENDS: This week we all felt impressed that we needed to drop one of our friends. Something wasn't feeling quite right and then we were talking to their fellow shippers and they didn't feel good about it either. It was so sad but we definitely feel that this is what needs to happen. Hopefully one day they will be more ready and be able to fully accept the gospel.
- DIDN'T WORK: With all of the meetings this week, we didn't work for almost 3 whole days. We were driving from Elma to Centralia to Vancouver to Aberdeen, it was just a wild week! I never realized how much joy comes from knocking doors all day long! I was so thankful to finally get to work again because not working was so draining!
Spiritual Thought:
In our Sunday night devo yesterday, Elder Peter M. Johnson focused on charity. We read together Moroni 7:45-48. We talked about what charity really means and in the scripture it says that charity endureth long and faileth not. A lot of things in the world fail. We fall short, people let us down, most things fail at some point, but charity never will! No matter what we are going through, charity can endure it! His love can endure everything! There is nothing that we could do to not be within reach of His love! How special is that! I love Jesus Christ so much!
That's all for this week! I am super excited for another 6 weeks in Elma and I can't wait to continue watching our friends progress! I love you all! Please write me! Have the best week!
