CYCLONE BOMB🌀💣
hey hey hey! everything is going great here in the wvm! I love it here!
- BROWER FAMILY: we just started teaching the most amazing family! it's a mom and dad and 2 kids and they love Jesus Christ! we asked them in our lesson who they have seen the Lord's hand in their life and the mom said "well you guys are the Lord's hand in my life!" they genuinely are just amazing! they even went to the store before our lesson to buy us hot chocolate because it was so cold outside! pray for them as they continue meeting with us!
- STEVE: We had a lesson with our friend Steve this week! in the past, he has asked us a lot of hard questions with big words and we have never known how to answer them. he also told us that if things line up historically he would join our church so we wanted to give him a fair chance to know these things. so this week, we brought our super genius zone leaders with us to teach. one of them ended up teaching the whole time and he was whipping out things I had never even heard before about the Book of Mormon. I guess I gotta learn a little more haha!
- INTERVIEWS WITH PRESIDENT: this week we got to have interviews with President Mann and I LOVE President! he is just the most amazing person and he always knows exactly what to say to us missionaries. we had a really awesome conversation about rocket ships and motivation, it was super awesome!
- INVITED MISSIONARIES TO CHURCH: last night while tracting, we pulled up to this car who had their windows down and invited them to church. remember me and sister jacobson are both new and know no missionaries but it happened to be the ysa elders and it was so funny! they were like ummm we already go to church and then we were like wait you're missionaries. it doesn't sound as funny now but in the moment it was hilarious.
LOWLIGHTS:
- CYCLONE BOMB: we got a text this week about a "cyclone bomb" hitting Washington. I was really hoping I would get to experience my first cyclone bomb but unfortunately it didn't hit Ridgefield at all. it would've been really fun though.
- PEOPLE LOVE POLITICS: People here LOVE to talk about politics and love to make it a HUGE deal that we don't know anything about them as missionaries. it's so hard for us as missionaries to be like "oh yeah we don't talk about politics" and then for them to go off about them. it's honestly terrible.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
I was reading a conference talk this week by Elder Uchtdorf and I loved something he said. He said "That reward is not usually behind the first door. So we need to keep knocking." this really stood out to me! sometimes people have a hard time when they don't get an answer the first time they pray, but often, that's not how it works. it takes consistent effort and we will always get an answer when we are always working towards it!
I love you all a ton and I'm so thankful for your support! happy thanksgiving! you're all the greatest!
-Sister Stringham🩷
